Practicing Your Assertiveness and Negotiation In-Person
This practice session focuses on developing your assertiveness and negotiation skills.
Developing assertiveness is important because it will empower you to effectively communicate your needs, set boundaries, and navigate work and social interactions with confidence and respect.
Whilst developing your negotiation skills is important because it enables you to effectively navigate conflicts, achieve mutually beneficial agreements, and maximize outcomes in various personal and professional contexts.
Together these skills can be used to achieve positive outcomes in all areas of your life, from your personal relationships to your professional career.
Steps to attend:
- You must first please complete the below pre-learning. This will provide you with the theory, knowledge and background information, so that when you arrive at the practice session, you can then purely put it all into practice and apply that skill within a supportive environment.
- Please also download the provided script of the pre-learning. Please print it out (if needed) to make your own notes on it when watching the pre-learning content.
- When you attend the practice session, you will be provided with job aids and example scenarios to dive straight into, but you may want to focus on situations personal to you, so please give it some pre-thought and bring along ideas. The practice sessions are very much about role playing and putting what you’ve learnt into practice.
