Trusted Research: Safer partnerships Online
More than half of UK research is a product of international collaboration. Developing and maintaining these relationships at the University is key to the success of research and knowledge exchange. A risk is something that might occur while working on a research project, and if it does, will impact on the project’s objectives of cost, time, performance, and quality. Risk is uncertainty in an outcome. Risks can be either negative threats or positive opportunities and it is the responsibility of the University and those undertaking the research to minimise those risks.
This session will provide an overview on now the University identifies and manages risks related to working with international research partners. In particular, the session will develop skills and knowledge in:
• Understanding of the legislation and regulations researchers need to follow as they work internationally.
• The awareness of the threat posed by hostile actors to researchers and their work, and how risk can be managed effectively.
• The University arrangements and guidance on the process for researchers working with international organisations.
